I cannot believe it, but we will close and get keys for our new house in two weeks! What an adventure this has been so far with a semi-custom build. We are so excited to get into the space and truly make it ours. With that being said, we are wasting no time and already planning some custom projects. Drumroll please…here is the first new home project!
Custom Dog Bath & Mudroom
What do you do with a flex room in the first floor of your home, off the entryway?! You make part of it a dog bath and mudroom space. This should come as no surprise to many as it’s a known fact that we absolutely adore our 6-year-old Labrador Retreiver, Boz. We have always dreamed (mostly me) of having a dedicated space to easily groom him and store all of this supplies. Also, we will be living close to a walking trail so being able to come into a mudroom will be very functional. All in all, our goal is to create an intentional home so this space makes perfect sense for our new lifestyle!
New Home Project Design
As far as designing a dog bath and mudroom space, we decided to get the help of a professional. Our interior designer, Jenny with Hollander Home Style, helped to develop a design that is both functional and maximizes the space. Game changer! When it comes to details of the project, particularly the dog bath, we decided to utilize products we know are built to last and will elevate the look by using Kohler Indianapolis.

Now when it comes to selecting home finishings, Kohler knows what they are doing! They are a family owned and operated company that has been in business since 1905. We are lucky to have a local showroom in Indianapolis that is dreamy beyond belief. A girl can get lost for hours there, dreaming up projects for every inch of a home! As hard as it was to focus in the spectacular showroom, we managed to select a handheld shower kit that will be perfect for the space. Sophisticated, elevated and functional!

New Home Project Coming Soon
Having the opportunity to build a home and now have this new home project in the works is beyond a dream come true, and I cannot express how excited I am to share it with you! As with any project, it won’t happen overnight but I plan to share the entire process with you and of course the finished space.
