The heat is on! Summer is almost officially here so it’s time to refresh our closet with some hot weather staples. Keeping your fit stylish yet staying cool is the key. Here are some of my Summer wardrobe essentials that I can’t live without and wear on repeat!
Denim Shorts for Summer
When it comes to Summer nothing represents the season more than denim shorts! Now finding the perfect fit can be a challenge, especially if you want your booty covered and a comfortable yet structured fit. Some brands that I swear by include Abercrombie (especially their curve love line if you are a thicker thigh gal), Abrand, Levi’s, and Target. These brands offer varying price ranges and all fit true to size (may need to size up one for Levi’s depending on the style though).
Summer Maxi Dresses
Another Summer essential are maxi dresses! They keep you cool and stylish with their flowy and breathable fit and are great to dress up and down. I particularly love to add some extra style to a maxi dress with a pretty lace bralette. There are some many fun options of printed and patterned dresses but you also can’t go wrong with a solid number. Another way I adore styling a maxi dress differently is with a statement graphic tee tied over it.
Summer Essential Shoes
Summer also wouldn’t be complete without sandals! They are so easy to slide on and go as well as keep your feet happy and open given the heat. The style options are endless and can be wore with essentially any outfit and activity whether it’s for a pool day or a night out on the town. Some splurge worthy sandals to consider include the popular Chloe and Gucci slides. To stay cost effective, DSW and Target have trendy options at great prices.
Accessories in Summer
Last but certainly not least are accessories to give your Summer wardrobe the finishing touch! You can play with your jewelry by adding in some brightly colored pieces to add a pop to your look but ultimately can’t leave the house without some killer sunglasses and a hat. A few affordable sunglass brands that offer tons of styles are Quay and Diff. Both often offer great discounts and deals, too, so stay on the lookout for those! As far as the Summer hat game goes, it’s all about the straw vibe. One that is affordable and easy to pack for vacations is the ultimate snag!

There are honestly endless staple pieces for the hot season but these are a few that definitely make the cut every year for me! Others to keep in mind are white blouses and t-shirts, white pants, white sneakers, colorful crossbody purses, carryall tote bags, t-shirt dresses, midi skirts and of course a great swimsuit!
